DESCRIPTION

Pelgulinna State Gymnasium in Tallinn, Estonia, is a modern educational facility designed with durability, student well-being and sustainability at its core. The school’s architecture places a strong emphasis on day-light and thermal comfort. Large glazed façades creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere conducive to learning and social interaction. The solar control glazing helps reduce overheating indoor and improving energy efficiency while also promoting the students' concentration and overall well-being. 

CHALENGES

Design one of the largest wooden buildings in Estonia, integrated with the surrounding nature. Thanks to the use of modern solutions, a harmonious space was created that supports learning and development while minimising negative environmental impact.

SOLLUTIONS

On the Facade was installed extremely selective solar control glazing 
COOL-LITE® XTREME 61/29 that provide full of day-light and outstanding outside view. In addition, the glass solutions offer stable indoor thermal comfort prevent overheating and avoiding use energy consumption air-conditioners. This not only enhances comfort for students and staff but also contributes to the building’s overall energy performance and less negative impact on environmental.
